Tasmania's boutique seafood and beer producers have contributed to the state's growing primary industries sector, the government says.

The gross value of agriculture in the state for 2014/15 grew by more than six per cent to $1.44 billion according to figures released on Wednesday, Primary Industries Minister Jeremy Rockliff told parliament.

"Atlantic salmon, confectionary, dairy, beef, potatoes and beer are the largest processed food categories, so the reputation of Tasmania's brand on interstate and international markets is continuing to grow," he said.
