Tas won't miss out on shipbuilding work

Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne has assured Tasmanians they won't miss out on major shipbuilding projects.

Mr Pyne on Tuesday told parliament a workshop would be held in Hobart in December with Tasmanian companies able to discuss opportunities with company representatives and defence officials.

Tasmanian firms had benefitted from past naval shipbuilding projects with Taylor Brothers and CBG Systems by providing equipment and fittings for the three new air warfare destroyers, he said.
