Sydneysiders warned large crowds expected for weekend of events

Sydneysiders are urged to take public transport this weekend, with back-to-back events likely to clog up roads.

The weekend lineup includes Oktoberfest on Saturday in Sydney's CBD, Paul McCartney concerts on Friday and Saturday night at Allianz Stadium, Sculptures by the Sea in Bondi and Spring Racing at Randwick.

With large crowds expected at each of the events, Transport NSW has urged commuters to use public transport.

Around 35,000 people are expected to attend the Paul McCartney concerts on Friday and Saturday night.

German beer festival Oktoberfest will be held in the domain, which has the capacity for up to 50,000 people.

Sculptures by the Sea attracts 500,000 visitors over the 18-day exhibition in Bondi, and is accessible via bus from Bondi Junction train station.

NSW Transport said parking will be limited at events.

Light rail services will run regularly from the city and southeast suburbs to Moore Park, while regular train services will continue through the city for easy access to every event happening this weekend.
