Sydney woman charged with drink-driving after she was allegedly caught doing almost 140km/h in a 90 zone
A woman has been charged with mid-range drink-driving after she was caught allegedly speeding more than 40km/h above the speed limit on a freeway in Western Sydney.
Police conducting speed enforcement duties detected a hatchback allegedly travelling at 137km/h in a 90km/h zone on the M4 at Silverwater about 2:40 this morning.
The vehicle was stopped and police spoke with the 31-year-old female driver.

After returning a positive breath test, she was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.080.
Her licence was immediately suspended.
The St Marys woman has been issued with an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 30km/h.
She is due to appear in Burwood Local Court on 27 February.
The Australia Day long weekend road safety campaign is continuing with a high-visibility proactive policing strategy in force targeting fatigue, speeding and drink and drug-affected drivers.
On the first day of the road safety campaign yesterday, NSW Police issued 740 infringement notices for speeding and 32 drink driving charges.
