A 23-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing almost half a million dollars in cryptocurrency

"In January, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad established Strike Force Rostrevor to investigate the theft of 100,000 units of Ripple from an electronic account," NSW Police said today.

At the time, the total value of the cryptocurrency was more than $450,000.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, told investigators his email account have been hacked and he was locked out of it for two days in January.

This morning Strike Force Rostrevor detectives arrested a woman at a home in Epping, in Sydney's north-west.
