Sydney thieves fracture man's jaw

A man has been left with a broken jaw after he confronted thieves stealing tiles from his roof in Sydney's southwest, police say.

The 38-year-old confronted a group of men who were stealing the tiles from the roof of his home on Duke St, Canley Heights, on June 12.

The group then forced the man inside the home before assaulting him and fracturing his jaw, police say.

Police on Monday released images of the men alleged to have been involved.

One of the men depicted is described as having a Caucasian appearance, with two further men described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance.

Another man is shown wearing shorts and a T-shirt, with a cap, black sneakers and carrying a dark-coloured bag.

The other two men are shown wearing fluorescent green jackets and vests with light-coloured pants.

Investigators have also released images of a vehicle, described as a white Toyota Hilux ute, with a silver tray.
