Police have released footage of two men throwing Molotov cocktails at a Sydney tattoo parlour, before later ramming it with a car and setting the vehicle on fire.

The attack happened in the early morning of June 7 last year in the western Sydney suburb of Rooty Hill.

Two masked men hurl at least six explosives at the building before running off.v A car was then rammed into the parlour's entrance and set on fire 48 hours later, after being sprayed with bullets.

The tattoo parlour was sold shortly before the attack and police believe the new owners may have been "mistakenly targeted".

The arsonists are still at large and police are appealing for witnesses.
