Sydney has amassed one metre of rainfall so far this year, four months ahead of the scheduled forecast.
Winds, frequent wet weather systems and above average sea temperatures have drenched the city in an unusually wet first half to the year, Weatherzone said.
Sydney was most recently battered with a month's worth of showers over the weekend, which led to the 24 hours to 9am Sunday being crowned the city's second wettest June day on record.

Observatory Hill recorded 142mm, which broke the June average of 133mm.
The soaking deluge brought the city's rainfall total for this year up to 1020 mm or 1.2 metres, according to Weatherzone.
Sydney is already four months ahead of schedule as it typically only reaches one metre of rainfall by October.
This year's total has put it in the top two per cent of historical records.

And the wet weather will only continue this week.
Showers are set to pour from tomorrow before intensifying on Thursday and clearing by Sunday.
It comes as a coastal low pressure system develops off the New South Wales coast, which will hit the eastern suburbs including Sydney metropolitan areas.
