Power restored after outage hits 50,000 homes and businesses in Sydney

Nearly 50,000 homes and businesses were impacted by a power outage across northern Sydney this morning.

The outage began just after 10 am this morning and was originally centred around the Pennant Hills area in the Hills region of Sydney.

Overall, 15 suburbs were impacted, with over 48,000 customers affected according to data from Ausgrid.

It included Waitara, Carlingford, Wahroonga and Hornsby.

Authorities looked to restore power, and according to Ausgrid's website, the issue had been resolved by around 1pm.
