Pedestrian critical after getting hit by car in Sydney’s west

A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Sydney’s west this evening.

Just before 6pm, emergency services were called to the corner of the Great Western Highway and Marsden Street, Parramatta, after a man in his 20s was hit.

The crash site has been cleared, but east and westbound traffic is heavy.

Drivers are advised to take an alternative route if possible.

The incident comes on Fatality Free Friday, an initiative by road safety campaigners to have at least one day where nobody dies on our roads.
