Drowned man’s body recovered at Sydney’s Figure Eight Pools

The body of a man believed to be a missing Nepalese national who drowned in February has been found in Sydney’s Royal National Park.

A bushwalker located the body on rocks about 800 metres south of the Figure Eight Pools on Monday afternoon.

NSW Police commenced a retrieval operation with Police Rescue and the Airwing and recovered the body just after midday yesterday.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is a 22-year-old Nepalese national who was swept off rocks at the Figure Eight Pools on February 25.

A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
