Body of man found in backyard pool south of Sydney

An elderly man's body has been found in his backyard pool in Sydney's south.

Police were called to Mookara Place in Port Hacking at 7.30am today after concerns were raised for the man's welfare.

Sutherland Shire police and NSW Ambulance attended and found the body in the pool, entangled in the pool cleaner.

A post mortem will be carried out, police said.
