Sydney men terrified as lightning strikes metres away

When Sydneysider Nick Panayiotou started filming a thunderstorm on the weekend he had no idea he was about the capture the moment his life flashed before his eyes.

Within seconds, a massive bolt of lightning strikes, metres away from where he and his friend Daniel Dudman are standing in a boat shed at Oyster Bay, in Sydney’s south.

As the camera screen flashes white the men can’t help but react with instant terror screaming, “Oh my god”.

“I felt it, I felt it,” one of the men yells.

The men told the Seven Network they had only just decided not to take their boat out on the river before the storm struck.
