Dozens of road closures in Sydney CBD: What you need to know
Dozens of road closures will impact Sydney motorists today, as thousands of runners take to the city streets for the Sydney Marathon.
Road closures are in effect before the marathon starts at 6am.
All major roads and cycleways across several suburbs will be closed from 3.30am, including, The Rocks, Millers Point, CBD, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Pyrmont, Darlinghurst, Moore Park, Centennial Park, Kensington and Kingsford.

Sydney CBD, Circular Quay, The Rocks & Barangaroo
Road Closures between 4am and 10am:
- The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Cahill Expressway and Western Distributor will be closed in both directions.
- Roads between York Street and Macquarie Street will be closed including:
- Bridge Street, Pitt Street, Young Street, Phillip Street, Bent Street, Hunter Street, King Street, Elizabeth Street, Castlereagh Street, Hickson Street, George Street, and surrounding local streets.
Other road closures in the CBD:
- Macquarie Street from the Opera House will be closed from 4am-3pm.
- Anzac Parade from Moore Park to Kingsford will be closed from 5am to 11.30am.
- Park Street and William Street will be closed between Elizabeth Street and Crown Street from 5am until 2pm.
- Major roads between the city and Moore Park will be closed until 2pm including College Street, Park Street, Oxford Street and Flinders Street.
- The Harbour Tunnel and Eastern Distributor will remain open, however, motorists should expect delays.
- However, there will be no direct access to the CBD via Eastern Distributor exits at Cowper Bay Wharf or Kings Cross throughout the day.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge will also be closed as it makes up part of the marathon track. Sydney Morning Herald
Moore Park, Centennial Park & Kensington/Randwick
Road closures from 4am to 2pm:
- Sections of College Street, Liverpool Street, Oxford Street, Flinders Street and South Dowling Street will be closed from 4am.
Road closures from 5am to 11.30am:
- Anzac Parade between Dacey Ave
- Moore Park to Gardeners Road in Kingsford
- Cleveland Street (westbound) from Anzac Pde to South Dowling Street
- Doncaster Ave
- High Street closed between Anzac Parade and Wansey Road
- Dacey Ave closed between South Dowling Street and Anzac Parade
- Alison Rd closed between Darley Rd and Dacey Ave.

Road closures from 5am to 12pm:
- Cleveland Street (eastbound) from South Dowling Street to Anzac Parade,
- Anzac Parade (northbound) from Cleveland Street to Fitzroy Street
- Anzac Parade (southbound) from Cleveland Street to Dacey Ave
Road closures from 5.30am until 1.30pm:
- Anzac Parade (southbound) from Moore Park Road to Lang Road.
- Moore Park Road will be closed between Flinders Street and Oxford Street.
- Driver Avenue will be closed, and Lang Road will be closed between Cook Road and Anzac Parade.
- Robertson Road and surrounding local streets.
Road closures from 5am to 2pm:
- Park Street and William Street closed between Elizabeth Street and Crown Street

Pyrmont & Darling Harbour
Road closure from 4am to 8.30am:
- Parts of Harris Street, Wattle Street and Allen Street will be closed
- The off-ramp from the Western Distributor
- Bulwara Road, and surrounding streets will also be closed.
Road closure from 4am to 9am:
- Harris Street, Bowman Street, Refinery Drive, Pyrmont Bridge Road, John Street, Point Street and surrounding streets will be closed.
Road closure from 4am to 9.30am:
- Parts of Pirrama Road, Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont Bridge Road, Jones Bay Road, Union Street and surrounding local streets will close.
Road closure from 4am to 10am:
- The Western Distributor between Pyrmont and the CBD, including the on and off ramps.
- Traffic from the Anzac Bridge to the city will have to take the detour via the Bathurst Street off-ramp.

North Sydney
Road closures from 3.30am to 9.30am:
- Sections of Miller Street, Ridge Street, McLaren Street, Carlow Street, Berry Street, Walker Street and surrounding local streets
Road closures from 4am to 9am:
- Pacific Highway between Bay Road and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bradfield Highway.
Other road closures:
- Miller Street Start line area between Falcon Street and McLaren Street will be closed from 3.30m until 12pm.
- Walker Street between Berry Street and Ridge Street will be closed from 3.30am and will reopen at 8.30am.
- Ridge Street, between West Street and Walker Street will be closed from 7am on September 14 until Midday on September 15.
