Sydney man charged with child porn
A Sydney man has been charged with possessing child pornography after detectives went undercover online to catch him.
In May 2013, investigators assumed the online identity of a 37-year-old mother and engaged a man in conversation.
Over the course of the next eight months, investigators regularly communicated with the man.
Detectives allege that during the online conversations the man graphically outlined a number of sexual acts he would like to perform on the 37-year-old woman and the 11-year-old daughter he was told she had.
Detectives arrested a 31-year-old man at a cafe in Parramatta on Wednesday morning.
The Bankstown man had his home searched and detectives seized a laptop computer and a mobile phone from the property.
He was charged with using a carriage service for child pornography.
He has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on March 26.
