Overheight truck in Sydney Harbour Tunnel causes traffic chaos

An overheight truck threw peak-hour traffic into chaos this morning, closing multiple lanes in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.

Just after 9am, all five southbound lanes reopened, however “traffic remains heavy”, Live Traffic Sydney tweeted.

Drivers were urged to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes due to significant delays.

“Traffic is very heavy, use an alternate route or expect significant delays”, Live Traffic Sydney tweeted.

Meanwhile, on Parramatta Road, North Strathfield, tonw-of-two westbound lanes was closed due to a three-vehicle crash.

It took until just after midday for traffic to return to normal.
