Traffic remains very heavy in both directions.

Southbound traffic is queued back onto the M2 in Macquarie Park and northbound traffic is slow on the Eastern Distributor, Victoria Road at Drummoyne, and on all roads approaching the Rozelle Interchange.

Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and exercise caution.

Travellers using the Sydney Harbour Bridge are warned to expect lengthy delays. 9News

Buses travelling across the Harbour Bridge have also been delayed.

People travelling north should consider using Victoria Road or the Sydney Harbour Tunnel instead.
