A Sydney security guard will face court accused of exposing himself to a lost three-year-old girl at a shopping centre.

The 27-year-old was working at a shopping precinct on Underwood Road at Homebush on Sunday when he responded to reports of a lost child.

The guard soon found the missing girl, but rather than immediately returning her, he instead took her to a nearby corridor and exposed himself before committing an indecent act, police will allege.

The girl was then taken back to her parent, who later alerted police.

The security guard was arrested at a Bow Bowing house yesterday and charged with committing an act of indecency against a child and taking or detaining a person for advantage.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
