In pictures: Landmarks disappear as thick fog cloaks Australian city
Sydney residents woke today to find their city cloaked in a heavy blanket of fog.
The morning fog settled on Sydney Harbour, making the landmark barely visible.
It also stretched into northern and western parts of Sydney, including the suburb of Annandale.
The Crown Towers building at Barangaroo in central Sydney was another city landmark largely cloaked with fog.
After a total cancellation of services earlier this morning, some ferries have resumed.
The fog also disrupted international and domestic flights from Sydney airport. Many early flights were delayed, but a small number were cancelled.
Despite the thick fog, plenty of people maintained their morning exercise routine.

Fog is declared when the amount of water droplets in the area reduces to less than one kilometre.
The fog is expected to clear later today, with temperatures in Sydney expected to reach a maximum of 21 degrees.
