Sydney family finds diamond python near fruit bowl

A family in Sydney's north-west was startled when they found a large diamond python near their fruit bowl.

The Kenhurst homeowners locked up their dog before they opened the back door to the lure the unexpected guest out yesterday afternoon.

"We've got diamond pythons where we live," Donna Sweeney said.

"I said 'bugger, how are we going to get you out?'

"It was only a small one, we've seen a lot bigger."

Snake catchers are reporting more slithery sightings than usual for this time of year due to recent rain.
