Driver charged after crashing into Sydney home three times over legal alcohol limit, police allege

A driver has been charged with high range drink driving, after allegedly crashing his car into the front bedroom of a Sydney home overnight.

Police understand the man lost control of his Toyota Hilux, hitting the front of the Baulkham Hills home in Sydney's north-west around 11pm.

The car smashed through the brick facade, causing significant damage to the house and crumpling the front of the vehicle.

Police arrived to find the car embedded in the from bedroom of the Baulkham Hills home. 9News

The 37-year-old driver from Stanhope Gardens then allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.

A woman was inside her home at the time of the crash.

Fortunately, she wasn't injured but was forced to spend the night elsewhere.

A short time later, the driver was found in the passenger seat of a second vehicle on Gooden Drive, allegedly attempting to leave the area.

The crash caused significant damage to the brick facade and crumpled the Toyota Hilux. 9News

The man was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and allegedly returned a reading of 0.150 -

He was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice (FCAN) for drive with high-range PCA, negligent driving and failing to exchange details.

His licence was also suspended.

The man is due to appear before the court at the end of June.
