Sydney constable charged with assault

A Sydney police constable has been charged with assault.

The 36-year-old was allegedly involved in an "incident" in Sydney's southwest last July.

The constable, who works in the southwest metropolitan region, is due before Liverpool Local Court in late February.

A police spokeswoman wouldn't provide further details.
