A man has been charged after allegedly sending letters threatening to bomb buildings belonging to law enforcement agencies.

Police executed a search warrant at the 27-year-old's house, on Devonshire Street in Surry Hills, near Sydney CBD, where they found a machete, knives, and a chainsaw.

He was charged with four counts of sending a threatening document, malicious damage and possess prohibited weapon. He was refused bail and will appear at Central Local Court today.
