Hundreds of unclaimed lost items at Sydney Airport will go under the hammer from tomorrow for a good cause.

More than 40 million people pass through the airport each year, meaning that all kinds of essentials and oddities consistently get left behind.

Starting tomorrow at 9am, the airport’s lost and found will be auctioned off by product type on pickles.com.au.

First up are cameras and gaming devices, followed by iPhones and smartphones on Wednesday, then iPads and laptops on Thursday.

On Friday bargain hunters can snag cosmetics, while on consecutive days auctions on jewellery, toys, liquor, clothing, footwear and clothing will be held.

Each auction will run for 36 hours, with national delivery available.

All proceeds will benefit a number of charities, including Lifeline, the Clontarf Foundation, Kookaburra Kids and Conservation Volunteers Australia.
