A Perth resident has sold his prized Lamborghini Gallardo after claiming it was being repeatedly targeted by police.

Most recently it was impounded and towed back to the holding yard that Hocking man Kris Lozanovski had just withdrawn it from hours earlier.

Mr Lozanovski, who doesn't have a licence to drive the car, said he had organised for a friend to get behind the wheel but it backfired.

"I was in the passenger seat, the other bloke was driving, said he had a licence and obviously didn't," Mr Lozanovski said.

Police swooped the moment the pair pulled into the driveway.

"They were waiting for me around the corner," Mr Lozanovski said.

The tradie's supercar has been impounded three times in eight months, previously in November and before then in June.

That time, Mr Lozanovski admitted he had been driving without a licence.

Family members also claim the car is targeted, saying they're stopped and the vehicle searched up to three times a week.

Police say they're focusing on the high-risk driving behaviours most commonly associated with fatal and serious injury crashes.

Mr Lozanovski said he had sold the car for "a quarter of the price it should have been".

"Just to get rid of it so they'd stop harassing me," he said.
