A man has died in hospital overnight after being found on a Melbourne street at the weekend.
Police discovered a 34-year-old man unconscious on the middle of Drinkwater Crescent, near Talintyre Road, Sunshine West, about 1.10am on Sunday.
It’s believed the victim was bashed about four hours before being found.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with head injuries, and died overnight.
Yesterday morning detectives arrested a 31-year-old man over the assault, after swarming a home near where the crime unfolded.
He was released pending further inquiries.
Detectives also arrested and quizzed another man aged in his 30s on Monday, but he was released without charge.
Investigations are ongoing.
