Sun the best hangover cure as NYE revellers flock to beach

New Year's Eve revellers have flocked to beaches and parks around Australia to soak up the sun and to kill off any hangover blues after partying through the night.

Bondi Beach in Sydney was packed with thousands of people as usual, while plenty took advantage of the waves on the Gold Coast.

Further south in Victoria, clear skies made for a cracking view over Melbourne with people heading to the beach at Inverloch and the park at St Kilda.

The mercury in the city is sitting around 24C, helping post-party headaches melt away.

Across Adelaide, conditions are mostly, with some choosing to berry pick to ring in the new year.

The streak of picture-perfect weather is continuing in Perth, with stunning blue skies and sun rays making a beach day a natural choice for locals and tourists alike.
