Australian government shipbuilder ASC has shed more than 800 jobs in the past year, new figures show.
ASC revealed in a Senate question on notice it had reduced its workforce in the period November 2014 to October 2015 by 820 positions, including employees, contractors and subcontractors.
ASC said the future frigate construction program starting in South Australia in 2020 would boost jobs.
