Adelaide woman killed in car crash remembered as ‘loving wife and mother’

The family of Nicole Tucker, who died when an allegedly stolen ute ploughed into her car, say they are “devastated” she is gone.

Relatives of the mother-of-two released a short statement today saying her life was “cut short too early” following the fiery crash at Bedford Park last night.

Police allege the stolen vehicle hit three cars on the Southern Expressway about 9.15pm; slamming into Ms Tucker’s car while she was waiting at a red light.

Officers on duty allege the ute was travelling at least 160km/h.

A motorcycle patrol spotted the speeding car on the expressway and tried to stop it by flashing its lights, but did not pursue it.

The ute then passed another patrol only seconds before impact.

Two people were taken to the Flinders Medical Centre in a serious condition.

Two boys, aged 15 and 17, have been charged. They were remanded in custody after appearing at the Adelaide Youth Court today.

Police allege the 15-year-old driver, from Sturt, broke into a house at Onkaparinga Hills sometime between October 4 and 5 to steal the car.

He was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, illegal use and serious criminal trespass.

His 17-year-old passenger from Morphett Vale was charged with illegal use and breach of bail.

Neither of the boys applied for bail.

South Road was closed between Sturt Road and Marion Road, causing lengthy delays, however it has since been reopened to traffic.
