A man who was stabbed during a fight with six others in Sydney's southwest has been charged for refusing to help police with their investigation into the attack.

The 25-year-old was stabbed in the legs and back and his face and head were bruised when he and a group of men fought in the stairwell of a Liverpool unit block on Tuesday night, police said.

After the man was treated in Liverpool Hospital police went to interview him, but he refused to co-operate.
