St Kilda foreshore violence: CCTV and images released in hunt for offenders
Police have released images of a number of people they wish to speak with over a "brutal" attack that left two men unconscious on Melbourne's St Kilda Foreshore.
Video released yesterday shows an unconscious 26-year-old Wheelers Hill man being kicked in the head by a group of men on December 1.
The second victim, a 24-year-old Burwood East man, was hit with multiple blows sustaining a broken nose and facial bruising. He had his mobile phone and wallet stolen.
Both men were taken to hospital, while another 20-year-old man from Vermont South, suffered minor injuries after being chased from the area.
Detective Senior Constable Nathan Sheppard said yesterday it was unclear what sparked the "senseless" and "brutal" incident but urged for people not to avoid the area.
"We've stepped up our patrols… there's a lot of reassurance policing going on," he said.
The suspects are all described to be aged from 16 to early 20s.
"Make yourself known to your local police station," Det. Snr Const. Sheppard said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
