NRL to ban South Sydney star Kirisome Auva'a from US training camp: report

The NRL will reportedly ban South Sydney Rabbitohs's star centre Kirisome Auva'a from training camp in the United States six months after they found out he assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

The Daily Telegraph reports Auva'a is expected to have his ticket to Souths's high-altitude training camp in Arizona cancelled after the Premiers and the NRL were locked in talks about the incident over the past two days.

The newspaper also said Auva'a is facing a suspension by the NRL from the start of next season.

Earlier this year Auva'a pleaded guilty to charges of recklessly causing injury and assault in an attack on his ex-girlfriend during a wedding in Melbourne in January.

It is understood the NRL's integrity unit was informed about the charges in May.

At the time 22-year-old Auva'a was a fringe player and Souths suspended him for seven days and fined him $2000, but he went out to be an integral part in the team's premiership success.

A spokesman for the NRL said now that the court case has ended all of the facts can be reviewed and further sanctions could be determined.

"The main thing is to get the right outcome, based on all the facts, and that's what we'll do with this process," the spokesman was quoted as saying.
