South Stradbroke Island jet ski victim named as former Brisbane Roar boss Mark Kingsman

Two Socceroos tried in vain to revive a former Brisbane Roar managing director after he suffered a suspected medical episode while jet-skiing off the Queensland coast.

But Mark Kingsman, 54, could not be revived after falling from his jet ski off South Stradbroke Island yesterday.

Two former Socceroos, Craig Moore and Danny Tiatto, were among the three close friends who were with Mr Kingsman when he fell into the water.

They helped pull him to shore and performed CPR on the beach until paramedics arrived, but despite their desperate efforts, Mr Kingsman could not be revived.

Brisbane Roar Football Club has sent sincere condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Mr Kingsman.

Mr Kingsman was still actively involved in the sport, playing with the Legends Football Club on the Gold Coast.

Club president Anthony Farr said Mr Kingsman was a true "legend".

"Mark was a gooner (an Arsenal fan), a gentleman and a dedicated family man and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Nikki, his daughter, Freddie, and all his family and friends at this extremely sad time," he said in a written statement.
