Body found in Adelaide property in search linked to missing father-of-two

Police searching a property near Adelaide in connection with a missing man have found a body.

South Australian Police said the body, which has not been identified, was discovered at the semi-rural home on Ormsby Road in Kudla, in the city's north.

Detective Inspector Mark McEachern said it was found in a pit inside a shed.

The pit had been drained of water and excavators were brought in to dig when the search of the property began last night.

Police said the search was in connection with missing 38-year-old father-of-two Steve Murphy, who was last seen camping in a swag around the area about six weeks ago.

The search also allegedly uncovered cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment.

Drugs and a weapon were also allegedly seized from the property on Sunday night leading to charges being laid against the 45-year-old resident.

A post-mortem will be needed to identify the remains.
