Out-of-control driver crashes into home near sleeping children
An Adelaide family is holding on to one another more tightly after an out-of-control car crashed through the front of their home this morning.
"[A] big bang. At first I thought it was the trees, then all [of] a sudden I smell smoke," resident Ngun Zathang told 9News.
Security cameras captured the Honda Sedan turning onto Prunus Avenue in the Northern Suburbs just after 5am.

The 23-year-old driver allegedly begged the Adelaide family not to call police, but authorities were on the scene within minutes. 9News
The vehicle then mounts the curb, hits a tree, and swerves into the front of the house.
The car comes within metres of the two children who were fast asleep in the front bedrooms.
"It just went through my heart and I still can't process it because my child is right there and room is right here," Ms Zathang said.
Neighbouring residents ran up to help the driver who had climbed out the car window and picked up cans of alcohol, seemingly unaware of the damage done.

Ngun Zathang said she was so worried her children were hurt when the car ploughed through the front of her house in Adelaide. 9News
"He got out the car and he was still drinking these [alcohol cans]," Lal Ponenai, Ms Zathang 's brother, said.
The 23-year-old driver allegedly begged the family not to call police, but authorities were on the scene within minutes.
Police breath tested the driver who returned a reading of 0.227, which is more than four times the legal limit.

Resident Lal Ponenai said when the driver got out of the car after the crash he reached for his cans of alcohol. 9News
The family say it was extremely lucky that the car clipped a tree before the home, otherwise the impact could've been a lot more severe.
"If he went a little bit more, at least half a metre in more deep I reckon my sister would of been injured pretty bad," Mr Ponenai said.
The driver has been reported for drink driving and is set to face court at a later date.
