Sonia Kruger announces pregnancy

TV presenter Sonia Kruger has taken to social media to announce her pregnancy.

Kruger, 48, wrote on Twitter today: "Hey everyone. Here's a fun fact...I'm having a baby! #overjoyed #newhousemate".

She posted a photo of herself standing next to a pair of baby booties on Twitter and Instagram, where she was showered with congratulations.

This will be the first child for Kruger, who has opened up in the past about her struggles with IVF.

Kruger and her partner, Craig McPherson, both work for Channel 9.

She will host the new season of Big Brother, beginning on September 8.
