Gold Coast holidaymakers have woken to a violent brawl broke out overnight that left two men with stab wounds.

A 15-year-old and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested after a fight allegedly broke out between two groups at 2am on the Esplanade in Surfers Paradise.

The argument soon escalated, leading to the alleged stabbing of a 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old man in the lower abdomen and back.
Officers arrived on the scene shortly after and the two teens were taken into custody. The two injured men were taken to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses have described hearing “lots of kids screaming and shouting”.

“I had that frightened moment because I have quite a lot of kids, and I thought, ‘Oh something's gone wrong’,” holidaymaker Suzy Cross told 9NEWS.

Police are yet to press charges. They are currently investigating whether other teenagers were involved.

Witnesses have told 9NEWS there was a separate commotion earlier in the night, but are not sure whether it was linked to the fight.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
