Solo student pilot makes emergency landing at Archerfield Airport in Brisbane

A student pilot has made an incredible emergency landing after experiencing troubles with landing gear in Brisbane.

The pilot was able to land safely about 10.50am AEST after witnesses alerted authorities to a failure in the plane's landing gear.

Cheers were heard at the airport when the pilot touched down with only two of three wheels visible.

“A number of circuits of the airport had to be performed before landing,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

“The pilot did a great job considering.”

It's understood the pilot had some flying experience and was training to receive a commercial license.

The exact cause behind the failure of the landing gear is being looked into.
