Struggling Socceroos slump to lowest ever FIFA rank of 102

Australia's slide down the FIFA world rankings continues with the Socceroos dropping eight spots to fall outside the top 100 for the first time.

The national side have slumped to their lowest-ever world ranking of 102.

It comes a month after coach Ange Postecoglou saw his team drop to a then record low of 94.

Postecoglou has the worst record of any Australian soccer coach, having won just two of his 12 games in charge.

The Socceroos' last outing earlier this month ended in a 2-1 loss to the top-ranked Asian team Japan who fell one place to be No.53 in the world in the latest rankings.

World champions Germany still lead the rankings, while two of Europe's smallest nations made big gains after upset results.

Germany stayed ahead of Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands in an unchanged top five.

Further down, the Faeroe Islands climbed 82 places to No.105 after beating Greece 1-0 in a European Championship qualifier.

Perennial last-place San Marino climbed 28 to No.180 after a 0-0 draw against Estonia ended a 61-match losing run.

Brazil remain No.6 despite a six-match winning streak since the World Cup.

Wins in Euro 2016 qualifying moved No.13 England up seven, No. 15 Romania up six and No.17 Czech Republic up five.

Costa Rica tops CONCACAF nations at No.16, while the United States dropped five places to 28th.

Australia is ranked No.10 in Asia.
