Primary students at a western Sydney school have raised their voices to help kickstart The Smith Family’s Christmas Appeal in 2017.

The festive spirit was alive and well at Willmot Public School as students, joined by New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian and charity CEO Dr Lisa O’Brien, sang John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ to launch the annual appeal.

The Smith Family is a national charity that helps disadvantaged young Australians move through their schooling.

Currently 49 Willmot Public School students are supported through the charity’s ‘Learning for Life’ sponsorship program that has been implemented at the school for the past three years.

The charity hopes to raise $3.7 million by December 31 to provide learning support programs to almost 9000 children next year.

To get involved, members of the public can make a single donation, purchase a gift online, fundraise or host a gift collection in their local area.
