Slipknot guitarist stabbed in the head by his own brother

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson and his brother Andrew have reportedly been taken to hospital this morning after getting into a knife fight with each other.

Police were called to Thomson's Iowa home when the pair got into an argument which escalated into a stabbing frenzy, TMZ reports.

Officers said both men appeared extremely intoxicated and had both suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by the other.

Thomson was stabbed in the back of the head.

Police are investigating but no charges have been laid.
