Skier fights for life after 200 metre tumble

A skier is fighting for life tonight after falling 200 metres from the summit of Mount Buller in the Victorian ski fields.

The man, aged in his 40s, is in a critical condition at The Alfred Hospital.

The alarm was raised around 1pm when reports emerged of a skier trapped on an embankment.

The ski patrol was able to stabilise him before he was airlifted to hospital in an induced coma.

It’s believed he suffered serious head injuries.
