Six boys charged over golf course damage

Six teens have been charged with 41 offences after allegedly breaking into the Alice Springs Golf Club causing $5000 damage.

The boys aged 14, 16, 17, and three 15-year-olds broke into the golf course after it closed about 11.30pm on Monday night.

Police allege the group also stole around $500 worth of alcohol and several boys threw rocks and bricks at officers before running away.

AAP understands the damage included smashed windows, tills and bistro buzzers.

The six boys were charged with 41 offences, including nine counts of aggravated unlawful entry, nine counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, nine counts of stealing, 12 counts of damage to property, escaping from lawful custody and breach of bail.

The three 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old were remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on Wednesday.

The 14-year-old and 17-year-old were bailed to appear in court at a later date.
