Show us the money, Lambie urges parties

Jacqui Lambie has called on the major political parties to reveal their financial backers and the size of the cheques before election day.

"I've shown you mine, now can you show me yours?" independent Senator Lambie says in a cheeky 30-second video released on Tuesday.

The Burnie-based politician wants all parties to follow her example of "real-time disclosure", showing who made donations, when and for what amount.

"It's not the size of your political fundraising that counts, it's how you disclose it that really matters," she said.
