Shots fired in Melbourne car park
A man is in a serious condition after being found in a shopping centre car park in Melbourne's south east with gunshot wounds to both legs.
Detective Senior Constable Jason Wombwell, of Dandenong CIU, told News Corp the man was "slipping in and out of consciousness" when found.
"He's been taken to hospital, but, judging from the wounds, he's in a bad way," Constable Wombwell said.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was found sitting in a car suffering what police believe are gunshot wounds to his legs, another officer said.
"Detectives from Armed Crime Taskforce are en route to the scene," Senior Constable Adam West said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed that a call at 12.30pm reported a man sitting in a car with smashed windows and leg injuries but said the man had refused to tell paramedics how he got his injuries.
"He hasn't been talking but paramedics are guessing he's between 30 and 40," an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
The man has been taken to The Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
