Malcolm Turnbull has ducked a question from Bill Shorten about whether Attorney-General George Brandis could be offered a diplomatic or judicial post before the next election.
It's been rumoured the embattled attorney-general is in line to replace Alexander Downer as high commissioner to London.
"I knew that the Member for Isaacs's (shadow attorney-general Mark Dreyfus) enmity towards Senator Brandis was an obsession, I didn't realise it was infectious," Mr Turnbull told parliament on Wednesday.
