Shopkeeper, teens arrested after violent brawl at Perth IGA

Shopkeepers and teenagers have been arrested after a violent brawl broke out at a Perth IGA following an accusation of theft.

The teens walked into the IGA in East Victoria Park at about 8pm yesterday.

As the group was leaving, owner Trung Tran and worker Nguyen Le accused them of stealing bottles of iced coffee.

However, the teens claim they were attacked first, with a 16-year-old boy stabbed in the arm.

Security footage shows punches thrown and Mr Nguyen headbutted, while another member of staff uses pepper spray on some of the teens.

One teen rammed the glass door.

The brawl continued for more than five minutes when police finally arrived to break up the crowd. They arrested three people including Mr Trung and a worker.

They were questioned for two hours and are adamant they did nothing wrong.

Police have laid no charges yet and are reviewing the security camera footage.
