Sydney shooting victim charged with hindering investigation

A man who was shot in the back and arm in Sydney's southwest has been charged with hindering the investigation.

The 38-year-old suffered two gunshot wounds to his back and arm at Greenacre just before 8pm yesterday and was taken to Bankstown Hospital.

He was then moved to Liverpool Hospital where he was questioned by officers from Bankstown Local Area Command.

Investigators say he provided them with an inaccurate version of events and was arrested following his release from hospital.

It is believed the man was shot outside a home on Wangee Road at Greenacre.

The Rhodes man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with hindering the investigation of a serious indictable offence and was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
