A man has been charged after a fatal shooting at a Newcastle home.
Police found Ken Dennis, 38, with fatal injuries inside the garage of the home in Maryland around 4pm yesterday.
Neighbours had called police after they heard gunfire in the Beauford Avenue home.
Police and negotiators later went to a home on Raglan Street in Wallsend about 1am the following morning and, after hours of negotiating, 10 people exited the building.
A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
He was briefly treated at John Hunter Hospital for treatment to minor injuries before being charged with murder.
He will appear in Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
