Warne booted from South African jungle shortly after meltdown during spider challenge
Shane Warne has been booted from the South African jungle in a shock eviction tonight.
The former cricketer was told his fate in the same I'm A Celebrity episode that saw him break down in tears at having a tarantula placed on his hand.
"See you, suckers," Warne said as he left the reality show.
His daughter, Brooke, posted her shock online.
"What the F…," she wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, the arachnophobic Warne overcame his biggest fear in a challenge that even caused stress for his fellow celebrities watching his meltdown.
Warne punched himself in the face trying to steel himself for the challenge before whimpering as the huge spider was placed on his hand for 20 seconds.
Former AFL star Brendan Fevola tried to comfort Warne as his breathing quickened and his eyes watered.
"You can do it, you can do it. Everything's brilliant," former NRL star Paul Harragon chanted in support.
After the spider was removed from his hand, Warne walked away from the group and broke down crying in stress.
"I've never reacted in any situation like that," he later said.
The reward for the challenge was ice cream spiders for all the celebrities.
